Why should you use tags?
Tags have been implemented to allow you to further customize your connectors. They complement the filters. You can thus enhance the identification of services, entities, and whatever else you need to effectively manage your connectors.
In some interfaces such as messaging monitoring, you'll find the tags you've created and use them as filters.
How and where to use tags?
You can find the functionality in two interfaces yet. They are located in the new versions of the tool. Access is allowed through the Messaging interface.
The management interface is in the menu MYZetaly and shows you in a table all the tags created by the users of your entity in the tool (see full description below). There you can have a global overview of your tags, and also create, edit and activate them.
The assignment functionality is available in the connectors table in the Messaging section (Streaming Agent). Here you can also create new tags but mainly assign and deassign them to connectors.
Tags full description
Tags creation
You can access tag creation in two different places:
- MYZetaly / Tags
- In the top bar thanks to the button "Create Tag"
- Streaming Agent / Messaging / Edit a connector -> Tag tab: In addition to searching for a tag, you can also create one if your searching doesn't contain any result
A tag must comply with these rules:
- It must contain between 3 and 32 characters
- Its label must be unique
Tags activation (in MYZetaly / Tags)
You can choose whether the tag will be active or inactive (default state at creation is active):
- An active tag
- can be assigned to an object (currently, this is limited to connectors, other objects coming soon).
- can be deactivated at any time.
- If it was assigned to an object, the link will be "cut" from that point onward.
- An inactive tag
- cannot be assigned and will not appear in the assignment dialog.
- If you attempt to create it because it does not appear, an error message will notify you.
- will still be displayed in the tags table.
- can be activated at any time by editing it.
- cannot be assigned and will not appear in the assignment dialog.
Please note that when you create a tag in the connector's edition, it is automatically set as active since it is intended to be assigned.
You can manage this state either in the edit or creation dialog (1) or in the table (2):
Tags table
All tags created by users of your entity are stored and displayed in a dedicated table under the MYZetaly / Tags menu.
In the table, you will find information on when each tag was created or edited and by whom. You will also see if the tag is active or inactive.
On the far right of the table, you can edit the tag and quickly activate or deactivate it.
General Information about Tables
Like all new tables, this one is customizable. Using the cog icon, you can configure which columns are displayed and in what order.
If you want to return to the default display, simply click the "reset settings" button.
Tags assignment (connectors table interface)
- For one connector
Once created and active, tags are available for assignment.
You can assign tags in the connectors table within the messaging section (Streaming Agent / Messaging / Connectors table). There is a dedicated tab in the edit and creation forms.
To assign a tag, simply type the first few letters of the desired tag and select it from the list. Once selected, it will appear above the field. You can assign multiple tags, as there is no specific limit on the number of tags you can assign.
If you select a tag you don't want to assign, you can remove it by clicking the cross icon.
To revert to the initial state, click "reset."
To complete the assignment operation, don't forget to validate.
The assigned tags will then be displayed in the connectors table.
A tag can be assigned to multiple connectors, and one connector can have multiple tags.
- Mass actions for several connectors at a time
First, you need to select the connectors in the table: checkboxes appear when hovering over the lines, allowing you to select them. You can select all by checking the box in the table header.
The possible actions are available in the top bar of the interface through icons: click on the tag icon (3)
- Assign tags:
In the dialog, the left box lists all available tags or the tags not yet assigned to all (a) the selected connectors.
This is a picklist, so you can select one or more tags to assign them to the selected connectors by clicking on the corresponding arrow (b).
Confirm by clicking on Edit.
- Deassign tags:
All tags assigned to every single selected connector appear in the right box of the dialog (a).
To deassign from all connectors, click on the tag(s) to select them and then click on the corresponding arrow to deassign (b).
Click "Edit" to confirm.
Click "Reset" to revert to the original state.
You can also undo or redo your last action.
