About
Zetaly Data Explorer is the data platform module dedicated to the exploration and analysis of collected and statistical data.
It enables you to search for information from all datasets, whatever the collection method.
Filters can be applied to refine searches and quickly find the information you need.
For each search, Data Explorer allows you to save the query by assigning it a Label, so that it can be reused at a later date.
When saving queries, relative time periods can be specified if required.
Relative time periods enable the same query to be used at different times, while maintaining the same depth of data exploration in relation to the current year, month, week, day, hour or minute.
Access Zetaly Data Explorer
By default, Zetaly Data Explorer is accessible to all Data Platform users.
From the “Data Expose” menu, select “Data Explorer”. The module's main page is displayed.
It shows all the Datasets known to the Data Platform in a table.
You can sort table on any column.
Navigation menu :
Dataset : Displays data sets managed by the data platform. This is the default page when connecting to the ZDE module.
All Queries : Displays all saved user queries.
Table columns information :
Column Label | Description |
---|---|
Label | Dataset Label (Global) |
Storage | Storage allocated by the Dataset |
Strategy | Strategy currently applied to the Dataset |
Description | Global description of Dataset data content |
Access Dataset Details information
From the Zetaly Data Explorer main page, select one of the datasets in the table by clicking on the desired dataset.
To find a Dataset easily from the list, you can use the search function on the left of the navigation menu.
This function requires at least three digits to be active.
When the dataset is selected, you will be taken directly to the detail page as shown below.
This page is made up of 3 main areas providing information about the selected dataset.
The ribbon contains all Dataset information in its globality.
Ribbon Content :
Information Label | Description |
---|---|
Description | Global description of Dataset data content |
Collected method | Data collection method |
Category | Data Category |
Strategy | Current Live Cycle management Strategy applied |
API name | API name associated to the Dataset |
Storage | Dataset storage Allocation |
The “Related Dataset” table on the left of the interface list the Collected and Child Datasets created according to the number of rules contained in the associated strategy.
Each of these Datasets stores data with its own level of aggregation.
Table "Related Dataset" information :
Column Label | Description |
---|---|
Label | Dataset Label |
Granularity | Data aggregation Level |
Type | Collected or Child Collected : Data without aggregation. Child : Aggregated Data |
From | Oldest date in dataset |
To | Most recent date in dataset |
The “Fields Collected” table on the right of the interface list the fields available in the selected Dataset (Child or collected).
For each field, information identifying the data content is provided.
Table "Fields Collected" information :
Column Label | Description |
---|---|
Label | Dataset field Label |
Data Type | Data Type |
Description | Field description information |
Detail Navigation menu :
Detail : Displays dataset details information page.
Explorer : Explore Dataset data content.
Queries : Access to the saved queries related to the selected Dataset (Collected or Child).
Explore Dataset content
From the Detail Dataset page you can explore the content of any Dataset (Collected or Child).
To access to the content click "Explorer" from the navigation menu located on the top right cormer.Dataset data is automatically displayed.
By default, the display shows the data collected for the current day.
The columns displayed depend on the dataset selected. To change Dataset (Collected or Child), use the choice list at the top of the interface.
All “Related Datasets” are available, allowing you to quickly explore content at different period and aggregations.
For each Dataset you can extend or change the displayed period by using the time period selector.
The period selection is done by clicking the expected period on the top of the component.
The left and right arrows are used to move through time in units of selected periods.
By default Date and Time used by the period selector is the "Older Than" field when the Dataset is associated to a strategy.
If the Dataset is associated to an Orphan Strategy, the product automatically defined a DateTime field found in the selected Dataset.
This default can easily be modified to use any Date type field contained in the current dataset.
To modify this selection, click on the cogwheel icon.
Its opens a dialog box for specifying the desired fields.
Only DateTime fields are available.
Once the new fields are defined, click "Apply" to validate the selection.
Data are automatically refresh using the defined field(s).
Filter dataset content
Zetaly Data Explorer allow you to filtering displayed dataset content. Filters can be applied on any field of a Dataset.
Conditions filter depend on the Data type of each field.
When several filters are defined, they are evaluated as "AND" condition.
To access to the filter panel click the icon "Filter" located on the left of the interface
This open the filter panel allowing to enter criteria.
The “plus” button gives access to the list of Dataset fields for selection. After selecting one or more fields, you need to specify the condition and criterion to be evaluated.
The result is not updated each time the filter is define or changed, but only after validation by clicking the “Apply” button.
To find a field quickly, you can use the search box as below.
Select expected field and specify criteria
If necessary you can add several conditions to a field as below.
This allow you to build complex filter to get the information expected.
Each condition filter can be deleted individually by clicking on the trash icon.
To remove all defined filtrers click "Reset" Button
All Filters are automatically removed and data reloaded.
Saving a query
Zetaly Data Explorer allows you to save your queries with the specified filters for reuse either directly in ZDE or using an API.
Saved queries can, if required, cover relative time periods evaluated in relation to the current day.
From the top menu in "Explorer" mode after having define your criteria select "Create Queries"
This opens a dialog box for specifying a unique Label and adding an optionnal description related to the query.
The query saves all the filters applied, regardless of the time period.
So you can create and save a query that only displays data for a specific partition.
When this query is reused, it will display information about the specified partition for the current day.
If you need to specify a relative time period (the last 7 days) then you must indicate the use of this type of time period prior to saving.
Check "With relative period" in the dialog box.
Additional information is required to define the relative period.
To define the relative period three parameters are required.
- Period Unit : Evaluated period unite (minute, Hour, Day, Week, Month, Year)
- Offset : Offset in unit of period from current day or hour or minute.
- Length : Number of period units to be taken into account since offset.
At the bottom of the dialog box, an example of the period covered is displayed, based on the values entered for these three parameters.
The selected period is always evaluated in reference to the current day
Eg.
This settings will covering the current Day and the Last past 2 days.
Period Unit = DAY
Offset = 0 (current day)
Length = 3 (3 DAYs)
This settings will covering from the last week 2 weeks.
Period Unit =WEEK
Offset = 1 (last week from the current day)
Length =2 (2 WEEKs)
When all the desired criteria have been defined, click on “Apply” to save the query.
