This report and the tests were driven by the IBM Benchmark Team based in Montpellier (FR) using our solution Zetaly Automated Capacity (ZAC).
Context
- Zetaly Automated Capacity (ZAC) is a widely used product to control and optimize IBM Z capabilities
- One of the main usage of ZAC is to dynamically control Defined Capacity, and optimize the LPAR DC depending on the incoming workload, and the given set of CPU ressources
- To adjust the LPAR attributes, ZAC uses the BCPii interface to communicate with the underlying IBM Z
Scope
- The test scenario will be focused on Defined Capacity for the LPAR, using ZAC
- as it is the most common usage scenario for clients - ZAC is using only BCPii API v1 (non rest)
- ZAC will be installed and configured on 3 LPAR, on a single CPC
Objectives
- Measure BCPii performance improvement between IBM z15 and z16
